Configuring your network with system-config-network
Applicable to Fedora Versions

- Wired or Wireless device you wish to configure with NetworkManager
Doing the Work
Basic description of what will be done and what is expected.
- Start system-config-network
- Select the Wireless Network Device you wish to configure and click edit
- To allow NetworkManager to control both your wired and wireless devices you need to make the following changes.

- Reboot the machine for the changes to take effect.
su -c 'system-config-network'or from the Menu, System > Administration > Network
Tick "Controlled by NetworkManager"
Untick "Activate device when computer starts"
Click OK to save the changes
Tick "Controlled by NetworkManager"
Untick "Activate device when computer starts"
Click OK to save the changes

File Quit

- Check that system-config-network and NetworkManager have been setup to work together. After rebooting you should see the NetworkManager Icon in the top right hand corner of the screen and the choice of a wireless or wired network connection
